HIGHWAY LINES
SHE SIGHED ONE GOODBYE
DIDN’T EVEN TRY
TO TURN AROUND TO SEE THE WORLD SHE’S LEAVING
KNEW SHE’D HAD ENOUGH
LAST FEW YEARS WERE ROUGH
NO REGRETS, SHE DON’T KNOW BEREAVING
SO THE ROAD IS GONNA SAVE HER
STICKIN AROUND NEVER SITS TOO WELL
SHE’S A ROLLING STONE WOMAN
HUGGING ALL THE YELLOW HIGHWAY LINES
THAT TWENTY YEAR OLD CAR IS DOING FINE
WAITING FOR AN ANCHOR OR SOME SIGN
ONE NICE CLEAN GETAWAY
THERE IS NOTHING LEFT TO SAY
EVEN IF THERE WAS, WE’LL CALL IT EVEN
NO DWELLING ON THE PAST
SAIL ON THE MAST
HEADING OUT THE DOOR NO MORE GRIEVING
ON THE RUN
YEAH, NEVER DONE
IT ISN’T FUN
ALWAYS ON THE RUN
TO A SETTING SUN
CAN’T FIND SOME ONE
Hi Tom,
Very nice! Yes this song is very fitting accompaniment to a TV series finale, or even better a some one closes one chapter of her life and is alittle scared about the next chapter.
Very familiar experiences on my part right now.
Thanks.
Mary
Hey Mary,
It is always interesting when a writer of a lyric hits on a lyric that seems to apply to so many different experiences.
A new chapter awaits.
Tom
